Longspur Capital was formed in March 2018 when two highly successful investment teams merged their portfolios as part of a $250 million transaction. The teams commenced developing and investing into energy projects in 2010 and by 2017 had built the largest portfolio of Feed-In Tariff wind energy projects in the UK.
In addition, the teams have successfully completed over 100 renewable energy transactions investing a further $275 million into assets including Solar PV, Biomass, Gas-to-Grid, Hydro and Battery storage projects in the UK and overseas.

Track record: Onshore wind
- Delivered 27.1 MW of FiT wind across 55 projects
- Secured planning on 18x FiT projects
- Acquired ownership in 37x FiT projects
- Constructed 100% of FiT projects
- Operated and managed 100% of FiT projects
- Created £180m in value through GVO Wind & Bluemerang Capital
- Raised c.£120m of non-recourse debt from Bayern LB in March 2018, following a prior refinance with NIBC/RBS
Track record: Ground Mounted PV
- Secured 20MW of planning consents
- Acquired, constructed and sold c.150MW of UK solar assets for ReneSola Ltd for an EV of > £180m
- Sold an additional 25MW of assets to UK pension fund
- Reviewing UK grid parity development projects
Track record: Biomass/ Biogas/ Hydro
Biomass:
- Developed 5.8MW of 200kW woodchip boilers with largest UK turkey producer
- Developed 4.5MW 40,000 tonne per annum pellet plant
Biogas:
- Invested £45m of capital into four biogas plants (c.15MW)
Hydro:
- Invested £40m of equity into 14x run-of-river hydro projects (c.20MW)
- Refinanced holding company in 2018 with institutional debt package
